The roof appeal is halfway
The appeal has reached fifty-two thousand pounds of the hundred thousand we need for the south aisle roof, which is further than the PCC expected to be by now.
The remaining work cannot start until we have the whole sum, because the scaffolding is the expensive part and putting it up twice would cost more than the tiles.
Thank you to everybody who has given, and particularly to the people who set up standing orders, which is the sort of giving that lets a committee plan rather than hope.
