Half the churchyard is being left long
From this spring the northern half of the churchyard is being cut twice a year instead of fortnightly, and the rest is being kept short as before.
This is deliberate and it will look untidy in June. The reason is that the churchyard is the largest piece of unimproved grassland left in the village, and the survey found nine species of wildflower in it that are no longer in any of the surrounding fields.
Paths to all graves will be kept mown. If a particular grave is being visited and the grass around it is a problem, tell a churchwarden and we will cut it.
