Weddings
You have a legal right to marry here if you live in the parish, or can show a qualifying connection to it.
- Speak to
- The Vicar, in the first instance
- How far ahead
- A year is comfortable; six months is enough
- Fees
- Set nationally, not by us. We will show you the table.
You do not have to be a churchgoer, and you do not have to be baptised, to be married here.
Whether you can
You may marry in this church if either of you lives in the parish, or is on the church electoral roll, or can show what the law calls a qualifying connection — you were baptised here, or one of your parents lived here during your lifetime, among several others. In practice most people who ask turn out to qualify somehow, and it is worth asking before assuming you do not.
What it costs
The fees are set nationally and published; we do not set them and we do not add to them. Ask and we will show you the table with the current figures on it, including which parts are optional.
What happens first
A conversation, without any commitment. Telephone the parish office and ask for the Vicar. If the date you want is free we will pencil it in while you think about it.
